PANTERRA RYEGRASS is a dwarf-type annual ryegrass that is used as a winter overseeding grass for warm season lawns, sports fields, and golf courses. Panterra has rapid emergence, prostrate growth, good color, fine leaf texture, wear resistance, and an early transition time. The transition time is important because Panterra dies out in the spring much earlier than perennial ryegrasses, thus allowing faster spring recovery of warm season turf. Cold hardiness is good and stands have been maintained at temperatures as low as 16oF. Panterra is under exclusive license and application for Plant Variety Protection has been made.
